Basic principle
China bereisen is a small information website. I deliberately do not use Google Analytics or analytics services run by large advertising networks. For simple visitor statistics, Matomo is used after consent on my own webspace. External fonts, embedded maps and social media plugins are not loaded. On individual pages, partner links and partner banners loaded only after consent may be used.
Server log files
When the website is accessed, the web server processes technically necessary access data. This may include IP address, date and time, requested file, amount of data transferred, browser type, operating system, referrer and status code. Processing serves technical delivery, security, abuse detection and error analysis.
The legal basis is the legitimate interest in a secure and functioning website. Log data is not used to create visitor profiles.
Matomo analytics
This website uses Matomo, a self hosted analytics tool. I use Matomo to see how many people visit China bereisen, which pages are read most often and whether content or technical presentation should be improved.
The Matomo installation runs on my own webspace at matomo.china-bereisen.de. The statistics data is not sent to Google, Meta or other advertising networks.
Matomo is activated on this website only after consent. If analytics is rejected, no Matomo tracking is started and the Matomo script is not loaded. The website can be used fully without consent.
Matomo is configured in a data saving way. Tracking cookies are disabled. IP addresses are anonymised in Matomo. The analysis is used only for simple reach measurement and improvement of this website.
To avoid asking for the same decision on every page, the choice is stored locally in the visitor’s browser using local storage.
Contact form and email contact
If the contact form or an email address is used, the transmitted details are processed to handle the message. This includes name, email address, topic, message and time of transmission. The data is not used for newsletters or advertising mailings.
Honeypot spam protection
The contact form uses an invisible field as simple spam protection. If this field is filled in, the submission may be treated as automated spam and discarded. No external captcha provider is loaded.
Local images, stylesheets and scripts
Images, stylesheets, scripts and the favicon are loaded locally from this domain. Loading these files only creates the usual server accesses. The image material comes from the operator’s own travel photos unless stated otherwise on the Sources page.
Cookies, local storage and external content
This website does not set its own marketing cookies. Matomo tracking cookies are disabled.
The same consent solution is used for external Trip.com partner banners. The banners are loaded only after the visitor has given consent in the notice.
If such a partner banner is displayed, a connection to Trip.com is established. Technical data such as IP address, browser information, visited page and time of access may be transmitted to Trip.com. Trip.com may use its own cookies or similar technologies. The operator of this website has no influence over this processing.
External links, partner links and referral links
This website links to external pages, for example official sources, sibein.ch, Trip.com or information providers. Individual links may be affiliate links or commercial referral links and are identified on the relevant pages. If a booking, registration or other qualifying action is made through such links, the site operator may receive a commission or referral reward. The visitor price should not increase because of this.
When this website is merely visited, normal text links to external providers are not loaded automatically. Only when an external link is clicked does the respective provider website open. From that point on, the privacy policy of the respective provider applies.
Some pages may include external partner content from Trip.com. This content is loaded only after you have given your consent in the notice. When such external content is loaded, technical data such as IP address, browser information, device data, visited page and time of access may be transmitted to the respective provider.
With external partner services, processing outside Switzerland and outside the European Economic Area cannot be ruled out. The privacy policy of the respective provider applies.
Technical measurement, booking, payment and possible commission attribution take place on the respective provider website.
Recipients and hosting
This website is technically provided by an external hosting provider in Germany. When the website is accessed, the hosting provider processes technically necessary access data, in particular IP address, date and time of access, requested file, transferred data volume, browser information, operating system information, referrer and status code.
This processing is necessary to deliver the website, operate it reliably and protect it against misuse. I do not evaluate this data for advertising purposes.
Beyond that, personal data is only passed on if necessary to handle an enquiry, if there is a legal obligation, or if consent has been given.
Storage period
Contact enquiries are stored only for as long as necessary to process them and possible follow up questions. Technical log data is deleted or anonymised by the hosting provider according to its normal security and operating periods. Matomo statistics data should be deleted or anonymised regularly, for example after six or twelve months.
Your rights
Within the statutory conditions, you have rights to access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, data portability and objection. For such requests, a message to the email address above is sufficient.
Right to complain
Data subjects may complain to a competent data protection supervisory authority if they believe that personal data is being processed unlawfully.
