This will become a practical guide to ordering ordering food in China. The focus will be on Meituan because, from my own travel experience, it is my favourite option when I want food delivered to a hotel, apartment or current location.

The page will later explain step by step what matters for addresses, location, payment, phone number, translation and handover at a hotel.

Meituan: my favourite for ordering food

For me, Meituan is the key app for ordering ordering food in China. After a long travel day, it can be very practical not to search for another restaurant, but to order directly to the hotel or accommodation.

For travellers, the important part is setting the address correctly, checking the location and understanding how the rider handles the handover. That is what this page will explain in more detail later.
